What does it mean to "claim" a podcast? When would I need to "claim" my podcast?
Because Firstory helps you distribute your podcast to Apple Podcasts; your show, from Apple Podcasts' perspective, belongs to Firstory (it does not). This is why the "claim" function exists for you to transfer back the podcast ownership to yourself.
If you are a user who has switched to Firstory from another hosting site or have chosen to manually distribute your podcast, you do not need to "claim" your show.Few readersClaiming through Spotify for Podcasters

Apple Podcasts calls it "Consumption Rate." Spotify calls it "Episode Performance."
On other platforms, you may see it in the form of "Completion Rate" (Stitcher) or "Audience Retention" (Google Podcasts).
Regardless of what it's called, these represent the amount of listeners who haven't quit or left at some certain point during the episode. A higher number may indicate loyal fanbase or good quality episodes. It is also a good indicator of how effective your podcast is.

The number of Downloads is the most appropriate metric to measure performance from Firstory Studio's data tools.
Downloads
The number of downloads includes data from all directories (e.g. Spotify, Apple Podcasts, KKBOX, etc.).
