Claiming my Apple Podcasts show
What does it mean to "claim" a podcast? When would I need to "claim" my podcast?
Because Firstory helps you distribute your podcast to Apple Podcasts; your show, from Apple Podcasts' perspective, belongs to Firstory (it does not). This is why the "claim" function exists for you to transfer back the podcast ownership to yourself.
If you are a user who has switched to Firstory from another hosting site or have chosen to manually distribute your podcast, you do not need to "claim" your show.

The 20210728 update has been implemented, and we changed Apple Podcasts Distribution to Manual Distribution. For shows that have applied on this date, you no longer need to claim your podcast as you have acquired your Apple Podcasts Connect permissions at the moment of successful distributuon.
Please provide us with the following information through Firstory Studio's Intercom dialog (customer service) at the bottom right corner, and we will proceed with the claiming application on your behalf.
What is Account ID?
Once you have made an iTunes account, log into Apple Podcasts Connect and enter this page:
From the gray bar, select "Account" > "Details" > Copy "Account ID"
## Important Things to Note:
An error might occur if you have applied for an Apple ID through Apple's website. We recommend you use iTunes on an Apple or Windows device to register.
Set your account's "payment method" in order to complete your account registration.
If you are an Android device user, you may download and register through Apple Music.
It will take about 4-5 days for Apple's Customer Service team to respond to the letter after application. Claiming will be completed within 24 hours of their response. We will notify you of the result through the Intercom dialog.
